Tomas Rehak - Profile

Czech conductor Tomas Rehak comes from a music family: his father Vaclav Rehak is the member of Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, violinist, pianist and composer. Tomas Rehak actively devoted to music since the age of 4 years when he started playing piano since 8 years he sterted studying violin. After he succesfuly graduated at gymnasium in 1993 he studied on the Prague Conservatory two majors: Tuba - with Prof. Vaclav Hoza and Conducting - with Prof. Hynek Farkac, Miriam Nemcova and Jaroslav Vodnansky. Already during the studies he cooperates with orchestras as Czech Philharmonic, FOK, Prague State Opera, National Theatre, Virtuosi di Praga and others. During studies he also began composing music. In 1998 - 1999 Tomas Rehak attened Master classes in France and USA. In 2001 he graduated on the Prague conservatory. Since 2001 he cooperates with the Dvorak Symphony Orchestra where he in 2002 became the Chief Conductor. His interpretation of mostly A. Dvorak's works is characterized with his typicly Czech romantic fraze, great tempo contrasts and irreplaceable colours of the orchestra sound. Tomas Rehak often performes on major Czech stages and also abroad in Europe, Japan and USA and he belongs to great hopes of Czech music life.
